Many people fear that the kingly Trump presidency signifies the end of American democracy, though I would argue that the Trumpian era is temporary and more a product of his extremely rare and grandiose personality and outlook on life than a widespread ideology. I also envision him actually not wanting a Republican to win in 2028 unless it was him, so he could emphasize that without him, the party just can't win or attain the same level of success politically.
